The key technologies of vertical double face grinder include face grinding wheel technology, wheel dressing technology and numerical control technology.
1. End grinding wheel technology
The end face grinding wheel is different from the common cylindrical grinding wheel. It has the characteristics of large working area and big difference in the linear velocity of each point on the end face grinding wheel. At present, there are mainly two types: integral type and inlay type. Among them, the inlaid grinding wheel can adjust the hardness of the inlaid grinding wheel according to the difference of the linear speed inside and outside the grinding wheel, so as to control the uniform wear of the working surface of the grinding wheel and improve the machining accuracy. In addition, because of the large contact area between the grinding wheel and the workpiece and the large grinding heat, in order to meet the needs of chip removal and cooling, generally there are round holes or fine grooves on the end face of the grinding wheel.
2. Dressing technology of grinding wheel
Because of the great difference of the linear velocity of each point on the action surface of the end face grinding wheel, the internal and external wear of the grinding wheel is uneven. In addition, the grinding wheel has a large area of action, the dressing device itself is seriously worn during dressing, and the dressing difficulty of the grinding wheel is greater than that of the cylindrical grinding wheel. At present, the commonly used dressing methods are: diamond pen dressing, roller dressing, rolling shaping and soft steel grinding shaping.
3. Numerical control technology
It is one of the key technologies of the vertical double face grinder to integrate motion precision compensation and control into the CNC system, to compensate the return clearance in the mechanical transmission, and to form an integrated control system of servo control and precision control.
